A Kentucky native, Emily Kane earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellarmine University in 2004. Following her undergraduate studies, she went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty from Vanderbilt University in 2006. Emily is board certified as a family nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and is also DEA, NP, NPI and RN certified. She is a member of the American Academy of Otolargynic Allergy, and has published research in the San Francisco Medicine journal. She joined the Virginia ENT team in 2019.
With over a decade and a half of experience working in otolaryngology clinics, Emily Kane enjoys treating both children and adults, and is particularly interested in allergy testing and treatment with SCIT and SLIT, acute and chronic sinus infections, ear infections, hearing loss and tinnitus, balance disorders, throat disorders and reflux. Emily is also proficient in procedures such as nasal endoscopy, flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy, procedures involving the otomicroscope, control of anterior or posterior epistaxis and foreign body removal from the ears and nose. One of her favorite parts about her job is helping patients improve and make progress. She strives to make patients feel heard and understood, and treats each patient with kindness and compassion.
Outside the office, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, reading, trying new recipes, playing tennis and practicing yoga.
