A Louisville native, Dr. Van Himbergen received his Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University. Following his undergraduate studies, he went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. During his junior year at the University of Louisville, Dr. Van Himbergen was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. He then returned to Vanderbilt University to complete his internship and residency. Dr. Van Himbergen is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology.
He has been with the Virginia Ear Nose and Throat team since 2008. Dr. Van Himbergen was inspired to choose this specialty because it allows him to utilize a broad variety of surgical techniques and treat patients of all ages. Within the field of ENT, he is particularly interested in sinus surgery and pediatric ENT care.
In his spare time, Dr. Van Himbergen enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and two dogs. He also loves cycling, golfing, wake surfing and playing guitar, and is a self-proclaimed sports enthusiast.
