Non-Surgical Procedures

Achieving Your Goals With Non-Surgical Procedures

Plastic surgery does not have to be invasive—in fact, many patients can achieve their aesthetic goals without the hassle or commitment of surgery. Made possible by advancements in modern technology, non-surgical plastic surgery procedures are effective, less painful, boast shorter recovery times and are oftentimes less of a financial investment than traditional plastic surgery.

Laser Treatments

Fractional CO2 Laser

A type of laser resurfacing treatment, the Fractional CO2 Laser uses light to target areas of concern on the skin. This treatment focuses on lightening skin damage and acne scars, reducing wrinkles, improving skin tone and texture and tightening the skin. Dr. Burke may use a numbing cream before the procedure to help manage discomfort. Following the procedure, patients often appear pink or as if they have sunburn, and recovery time can take up to a week. Benefits of Fractional CO2 Laser treatment include:

  • Dual lasers reach different layers of the skin

  • Targetted, precise treatment

  • Customized for your needs

  • Near-immediate, noticeable and years-long results

HALO HYBRID FRACTIONAL LASER RESURFACING

This kind of laser resurfacing treatment uses a handheld device equipped with two lasers- one that targets the top layer of the skin and the other that targets the bottom layer. This improves sun damage and signs of aging on the face, including wrinkles, pores, texture and even skin tone. Patients usually require just one or two treatments to receive the desired results.

BROADBAND LIGHT TREATMENT (BBL)

BBL device uses light energy to improve the appearance of age spots, acne, redness, veins and even helps tighten the skin. The device works by slowly heating up the skin, stimulating the skin cells and causing them to regenerate. The procedure is quick, only lasting for a couple minutes. For best results, our plastic surgery team uses a multi-pass approach with the device.

BOTOX®

Botox, also known as Botulinum toxin, lessens the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, making wrinkles less noticeable. Used for moderate to severe wrinkles and lines, one of the most common places where patients receive injections is between the eyebrows. Though the results are temporary, the effects typically last for several months. Botox is a popular treatment due to its many benefits, including:

  • Fast-acting

  • Minimal pain

  • Quick and safe procedure

  • Natural-looking results

  • FDA approved

  • No specific aftercare

Fillers

As we age, our faces lose fat, and the shape, texture and appearance of our skin shift. Over time, wrinkles, folds and lines begin to form on the skin. Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected into the skin to add volume and fullness to the face and help make moderate to severe wrinkles less noticeable. Like Botox, fillers are safe, subtle, minimally invasive and virtually painless. Though temporary, results should last for several months. Dr. Burke and our plastic surgery team uses the following fillers:

Plasma Rich Protein

Known as the platelet-rich plasma facelift, this treatment was originally used to treat sports injuries. This noninvasive procedure uses plasma from the patient’s own blood that is then injected into the skin. The injections stimulate skin cells, causing them to rejuvenate and achieve face-lift-like results. The procedure involves taking blood from the patient’s arm, which is treated to activate nutrient-rich plasma. Patients experience fast healing and minimal side effects.

Dermabrasion & Scar Revision

There is unfortunately no way to remove scars completely, but dermabrasion and scar revision can help to make scars less noticeable. Dermabrasion is a technique of controlled scraping used commonly on acne scarring on the face. Oftentimes, dermabrasion is combined with scar revision treatment for optimal results, which ranges from topical solutions to surgical procedures. Dr. Burke and our surgery team understand that every scar is unique. In addition to discussing your goals and preferences, we will examine the shape, location and size of the scar to determine if dermabrasion and scar revision are right for you.
