Dr. Freeman earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Richmond in biochemistry and molecular biology, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also spent a year at Oxford University, where he studied bioenergetics. Dr. Freeman then earned his MD at the University of Virginia, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into AOA, a medical honor society. He has completed a rigorous five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, the then #1-ranked ENT surgery training program.

Dr. Freeman was then selected as one of 20 surgeons to serve as a Fellow in neurotology and skull base surgery at the Otology Group at Vanderbilt, where he worked for two years. While in fellowship, Dr. Freeman not only cared for patients, but also participated in the education of residents and medical students. He also completed a two week intensive course for gamma knife training at the University of Pittsburgh.

His clinical practice focuses on all disease processes related to the ear, hearing, balance and lateral skull base in both children and adults. His areas of interest include cochlear implantation, acoustic neuromas (vestibular schwannoma), facial nerve disorders and tumors and more. He is also trained in radiation therapy for tumors of the lateral skull base.

Outside of the office, Dr. Freeman enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He is an avid tennis player and cook and loves spending time outdoors and on the water.
